Clean energy production has gained momentum in Brazil, and several sources are standing out in this scenario. Although progress is still slow, energy recovery from waste is one of them, and it is precisely this topic that the 4th Forum on Energy Valorization of Waste will address in April.
Promoted by the Brazilian Association of Energy Recovery from Waste (ABREN) and organized by one of the leading renewable event companies in the country, Grupo FRG Mídias & Eventos, the Forum will take place from April 4 to 5 at the Brasil 21 Event Space in Brasília, Federal District.
The objective, according to ABREN, is to bring together the entire production chain of the sector, including the association’s members and partners, in an annual meeting to discuss important topics currently on the agenda in the waste energy recovery sector. Yuri Schmitke, Executive President of ABREN, states that besides the main players in the sector, both nationally and internationally, political and environmental authorities will also be present to debate issues concerning the Brazilian sector.

“ABREN will bring together in Brasília the main national and international players along with Ministers, Secretaries, Deputies, Senators, Directors, and authorities. The association will present the main demands of the energy recovery market to the MME, MMA, Ministry of Cities, National Congress, ANEEL, ANA, Caixa Econômica Federal, and BNDES, among other national and regional institutions,” Schmitke stated.
The programming of the 4th Forum on Energy Valorization of Waste, in turn, will be quite intense. Important panels are expected to discuss public policies for energy valorization incentives, challenges and opportunities of CDR, technologies involving CDR blending, Waste-to-Energy projects in Brazil, financing challenges for this type of project, methane reduction with energy recovery plants, and circular economy.
Tiago Fraga, CEO of Grupo FRG Mídias & Eventos, believes that the event will gather the entire production chain of the energy recovery sector. This includes companies that hold the technology, as well as equipment for proper disposal.
“I believe that the event will bring together the entire production chain of the energy recovery sector, that is, the companies that hold the technology, which have the equipment for proper disposal, for energy valorization to add value to something that is currently a problem. It will also gather public opinion actors, public agents, those who make public policies in this country. We have great expectations that the sector will come out of the event truly strengthened,” he emphasized.
According to the organizers, the expectation is that more than 600 people will attend the event to generate networking, new opportunities, and knowledge about the waste energy recovery sector in Brazil. The complete list of panels and speakers can be accessed on the event’s official website, as well as the registrations, which can still be done online through the link: www.forum.abren.org.br/2023
