Record-breaking structure in Ceará combines unprecedented height, high speed, and technology capable of propelling rafts uphill along the route, placing Brazil at the top of the world’s water coasters and highlighting Beach Park on the international entertainment scene.
Surreal, an attraction installed at Beach Park, in Aquiraz, Ceará, earned Guinness World Records certification by being recognized as the world’s tallest water coaster, consolidating the Brazilian enterprise in an unprecedented position within the global sector.
With 28 meters of height confirmed by official technical measurement, the structure surpassed the previous record of Tsunami Surge, in the United States, which reached 26 meters, setting a new international mark and increasing the visibility of the Ceará park.
This recognition was granted on April 29, 2026, after verification conducted by specialists, ensuring accuracy in the presented data and validating the attraction’s performance within the criteria required by the organization responsible for world records.

The $6.2 billion aircraft carrier, 2 nuclear reactors, 333 meters long, and a history that began in World War II; meet the USS George H.W. Bush, the largest and most advanced Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
Until then, the category leadership remained since 2021 with the North American attraction located in Hurricane Harbor park, in Chicago, a scenario that changed with Brazil’s entry into the ranking, altering the spotlight for this type of water ride.
Guinness Record-Breaking Water Coaster in Brazil
Unlike conventional water slides, Surreal features a course that alternates descents with uphill sections, using water jets to propel the rafts along the route, a characteristic that redefines the traditional dynamic of this type of attraction.
Along approximately 340 meters of track, the double rafts complete the circuit in about 77 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 42 km/h, which reinforces the hybrid nature between a water slide and a water coaster.
How the Course with Uphills and Radical Drops Works
Right at the beginning of the experience, visitors are taken to the top of the 28-meter tower, a point that offers a wide view of the Ceará coast and the park’s facilities before the actual start of the ride.
Subsequently, the circuit combines progressive accelerations with tight turns, spirals, and changes of direction, creating a continuous experience that alternates intensity and rhythm throughout the entire course.
Among the highlights, the first drop, seven meters high, stands out as the moment of greatest initial impact, serving as a starting point for the sequence of movements that characterize the attraction.
After this section, the uphill ramps come into play, using water jets to push the rafts against gravity, creating an unusual effect in water rides and increasing the sense of unpredictability.
According to Beach Park, the equipment uses Master Blaster Fusion technology, developed by the company WhiteWater, a system specifically designed to allow this type of movement in different directions along the route.
With this mechanism, the attraction no longer relies exclusively on gravity to function, instead operating as a true water coaster, with speed and movement control throughout the entire course.
Experience Blends Speed, Surfing, and Visual Effects
Inspired by surfing maneuvers, Surreal’s visual concept incorporates elements that evoke typical movements of the sport, establishing a direct connection between the attraction’s concept and the coastal environment where it is located.
Among these elements are references to maneuvers such as big drop, cutback, and floater, as well as translucent sections and sharp curves that simulate wave behavior and contribute to the course’s ambiance.
Throughout the entire ride, visitors use double rafts, a format that promotes stability and aids in weight distribution, an important factor for the proper functioning of the ascents and descents along the attraction.
During peak periods, the park may limit access exclusively to pairs, a measure adopted to optimize visitor flow and maintain operation within established safety standards.
To meet growing demand, a priority access system, known as fast pass, has been implemented, allowing for reduced waiting times upon additional payment.
In this case, the reported value is R$ 90 per person, charged separately from the regular park admission ticket, a practice that has been adopted as an alternative given the increased demand for the attraction.
Investment and expansion of Beach Park at 40 years old
Opened in March 2025, Surreal received an approximate investment of R$ 30 million, being presented as one of the main novelties within Beach Park’s expansion plan throughout its 40th anniversary.
The complex’s trajectory began in 1985, when it operated as a beach tent in Porto das Dunas, evolving over the decades until it consolidated itself as one of the country’s main tourist destinations.
Within this growth context, the park also expanded its operations with the creation of Arvorar, a space dedicated to environmental conservation and education primarily focused on Brazilian birds.
In addition, the complex brings together structures such as Aqua Park, Vila Azul do Mar, and different accommodation options, forming an integrated set of leisure and tourism in the region.
According to institutional information, Surreal has a 28-meter tower and a total course of 340 meters, data that were considered in the validation of the world record obtained by the attraction.
Ticket prices and access to the water park
Regarding access, tickets for Aqua Park were advertised starting from R$ 260, with provision for half-price entry for audiences covered by specific legislation, such as seniors, pregnant women, and people with disabilities.
Additionally, residents of Fortaleza have promotional conditions, defined according to commercial rules established by the park, which may vary according to current periods and campaigns.
With more than 30 attractions available, Aqua Park was already recognized for its large-scale rides, a scenario that was strengthened with the arrival of Surreal as the main recent novelty.
Obtaining the Guinness certificate consolidated the attraction as a highlight within the park and projected Ceará onto the international stage of water roller coasters.
