The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula, leads an official mission to China from May 17 to 21, with agendas in Shanghai and Beijing to expand the presence of Brazilian agribusiness and reinforce sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation.
The program includes meetings with Chinese authorities, participation in SIAL 2026, meetings with Brazilian and Chinese entrepreneurs, and activities with cooperatives. China is the main destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports.
In 2025, the Asian country imported more than US$ 55.3 billion in agricultural products from Brazil, 32.7% of the total exported by the sector. Between 2019 and 2025, 25 markets were opened.

Brazilian Agribusiness at SIAL 2026
The schedule begins in Shanghai, where André de Paula participates in SIAL 2026, considered the largest food and beverage fair in Asia and one of the world’s leading events in the sector. The event occupies 220,000 square meters.
The fair brings together more than 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries. The minister will visit the Brazil Stand, organized by Apex-Brasil, and participate in the inaugurations of the Abiec and ABPA stands.
In this edition, Brazil will have a record presence, with 82 exhibiting companies in five pavilions, organized by ApexBrasil and sector partners. In the previous edition, 54 companies participated in the fair.
The expectation is to generate US$ 3.3 billion in immediate and future business. The minister will participate in the closing of the Brazil-China Agribusiness Seminar.
Meetings in Beijing
In Beijing, the delegation will have meetings with the GACC, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Commerce. The discussions will address agricultural trade, sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation, and institutional relations.
The agenda includes participation in the Brazil-China Dialogue on Green Finance and Sustainable Agriculture Cooperation and in an ABPA seminar. Brazilian agribusiness arrives with open markets for soy, animal proteins, sesame, poultry flour, and pork.
