Sanitary agreements concluded by Brazil free up exports of corn DDGS, potato pollen, and live equines to the Eurasian Economic Union, Peru, and Togo, expanding opportunities for agribusiness chains and bringing the country to the mark of 609 market openings since 2023
Brazil has concluded sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations that authorize the export of products to the Eurasian Economic Union, Peru, and Togo, expanding markets for corn, potatoes, and animal genetics.
With these announcements, agribusiness reaches 609 market openings since 2023. The result involves joint action by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Exports to the Eurasian Economic Union
In the Eurasian Economic Union, formed by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, the opening covers dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) from corn. The product expands opportunities for the production chain.

Raising tilapia, the most farmed fish in Brazil, with solar-powered tanks is a trend gaining strength in the field because the panels ensure water oxygenation in places without electricity and reduce costs, although profitability depends on management, feed, and market.

Now Brazil has moved up a level: flying robots are starting to be tested to harvest oranges on farms, selecting ripe fruits with cameras and sensors, sucking each fruit without dropping it, and promising to help producers in the face of labor shortages in orchards.

Stamping on pork may seem strange, but it reveals an important detail about food safety that many people overlook at the butcher shop.

China recognizes Brazil as free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination and unlocks a new phase for Brazilian meat in the Asian market.
DDGS are a byproduct of the ethanol industry and used as an ingredient in animal feed. In 2025, the bloc imported over US$ 1.4 billion in Brazilian agricultural products.
Among the main items sold to the bloc were coffee, animal proteins, and tobacco. The new authorization adds another Brazilian product to agricultural trade with the five countries.
Peru authorizes potato pollen
In Peru, the authorization allows the export of genetic material of potato pollen. The country is recognized for its wide variety of native potatoes.
The opening creates space for cooperation in research, plant breeding, and productive diversification. In 2025, Peru imported over US$ 729 million in Brazilian agricultural products.
The Peruvian trade agenda included forest products, animal proteins, soy complex, cereals, flours, and preparations. The measure expands Brazil’s presence in an area linked to plant production.
Togo opens market for equines
In Togo, the opening involves live equines intended for breeding. The measure creates new opportunities for the animal genetics sector.
In 2025, the country imported over US$ 148 million in Brazilian agricultural products, mainly from the sugar-energy complex, animal proteins, and leather. The permissions reinforce Brazilian exports in animal feed, agricultural research, and reproduction.
