National production of the MAX 1.2 AC missile marks a new stage for the Brazilian defense industry, expands the Army’s operational capacity, and consolidates SIATT’s factory in Caçapava as a strategic center for high-tech military systems.

SIATT announced the completion of the first production batch of the MAX 1.2 AC missile, destined for the Brazilian Army, during a media day held on May 6th at the company’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo.

The delivery marks the company’s entry into a new industrial stage, with serial production of a system developed in Brazil and aimed at strengthening the Defense Industrial Base, according to a report published by the website Defesa Aérea & Naval.

The batch was produced at the manufacturing unit in Caçapava, also in the Paraíba Valley, where SIATT concentrates its activities of rocket engine manufacturing and final assembly of systems.

The MAX 1.2 AC is a nationally manufactured guided anti-tank missile and integrates an area considered strategic for the Army, which seeks to expand capabilities with technology under Brazilian domain.

The completion of the batch represents, at the same time, a contractual advance and the consolidation of internal industrial processes.

SIATT’s Caçapava factory expands Brazilian military production

The Caçapava factory has come to occupy an essential position in SIATT’s operation.

The unit began its first operational phase with the production of MAX and was structured to meet the demands of the Brazilian Armed Forces and future external markets.

According to the company, the plant brings together processes developed in the country and integrates sensitive stages of the production chain.

SIATT’s president, Rogerio Salvador, stated that “the Caçapava factory represents much more than infrastructure” and expresses the capacity to produce high-performance defense technology at scale in Brazil.

The industrial expansion had already been presented in September 2024, during an agenda related to the EDGE Group, in Abu Dhabi.

Since then, the unit has been treated as part of the company’s growth strategy in the defense sector, according to reports from the newspaper Defesa Aérea & Naval.

MANSUP Family strengthens SIATT’s technological strategy

In addition to MAX, SIATT maintains projects linked to the MANSUP family, based on the reuse of already validated technologies and components.

This logic seeks to reduce development risks, accelerate new versions, and facilitate the logistical maintenance of systems.

MANSUP is the surface-to-surface version designed for naval use.

MANSUP-ER corresponds to the extended-range variant, while MARSUP is in the study phase for adapting the technology to launches from Navy aircraft.

In February 2026, the Navy and SIATT advanced in studies to adapt MANSUP’s technological base to an air-to-surface version, according to information released by Defesa Aérea & Naval.

The initiative seeks to evaluate the technical feasibility of a configuration aimed at naval aviation, without this meaning immediate entry into production.

SisGAAz expands company’s role in maritime surveillance

SIATT also participates in projects related to the Blue Amazon Management System, SisGAAz, a Navy initiative aimed at monitoring Brazilian jurisdictional waters.

The work involves the integration of sensors, communications, and data processing in coastal surveillance structures.

The first SisGAAz Coastal Surveillance Unit is being installed in the Castelhanos Lighthouse region, in Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro.

The area is considered strategic for the Navy and is expected to serve as a reference for future stages of the program. The Air & Naval Defense newspaper also pointed out that the location has operational relevance for monitoring Sepetiba Bay and nearby areas.

The project brings together expertise in system integration, maritime and terrestrial infrastructure, and the use of sensors for surveillance.

Expansion to other regions of the Brazilian coast will depend on the next phases of implementation and operational evaluation.

Partnership with EDGE Group boosts international expansion

The presence of the EDGE Group in SIATT’s structure reinforced the company’s internationalization strategy.

The United Arab Emirates conglomerate has a stake in the Brazilian company’s capital and acts as a partner in initiatives related to missiles and defense systems.

The partnership is pointed out as one of the factors supporting the expansion of infrastructure in Caçapava and the search for new markets.

For SIATT, the production of the first batch of MAX for the Army serves as a showcase of the national capacity to develop, industrialize, and deliver more complex systems.

The consolidation of this production cycle occurs at a time of resumption of strategic programs in the defense sector.

With MAX, the MANSUP family, and participation in SisGAAz, the company expands its presence in distinct areas, from terrestrial defense to maritime surveillance.
