Halliburton employees were literally prevented from working yesterday (April 24, 2018) by the SindipetroNF union in Macaé, due to the dismissal of employees who joined the strike back in 2017, triggered by Lula’s imprisonment and aggravated by the decision by Petrobras to privatize some of its refineries. The movement closed the entrance of the company from morning until afternoon, and workers needing to board were practically begging to enter; Sindipetro did not heed their pleas, resulting in what you see in the video below:

Every movement has its value; this has always existed and is part of a democratic state, but an individual’s right to go is a right, and restricting it violates basic constitutional principles. There are people who need to move on with their lives and provide for their families. In the video, the anguish of some employees needing to board to fulfill their goals and/or tasks at the company was evident; many of them earn by the day aboard the unit.

Refineries That Will Be Sold
Abreu e Lima Refinery and Landulpho Alves. In the South, Petrobras wants to transfer the share control of Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery and Alberto Pasqualini. Together, the four refineries have a capacity to process 846 thousand barrels per day. In total, the state-owned company has 13 refineries and holds 99% of the refining capacity in the country. The president of the state company, Pedro Parente, commented that the sale should begin this year and could be completed next year.
