Citroën was present at the Mercado Livre Experience (Meli XP) event and presented Brazil with its newest electric minicars. The Citroën Ami made its first public appearance in the country at this event, but there had been rumors for several months that the company would bring the launch to Brazilian soil.
The Citroën Ami is the vehicle that attracts the most attention at the company’s booth, as it is considered an efficient solution for urban and logistics transportation. The microcar is fully electric and has a 6 kW motor, giving it the essential agility for various conditions. The microcar’s maximum speed is limited to 45 kilometers per hour, but what stands out the most is its weight, as the small car weighs only 485 kg.
French Automaker Citroën Presented the Ami on August 31 at the Mercado Livre Experience, Held at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo
The microcar from the French automaker has dimensions of 2.41 meters in length, 1.39 meters in width, and 1.52 meters in height, making it perfect for parking in tight spaces. It is equipped with a tubular steel frame, 14-inch wheels, and disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear.

As previously mentioned, the electric Citroën Ami has a curb weight of just 485 kilograms and a battery capacity of 5.5 kilowatt-hours, allowing it a range of up to 75 kilometers when measured using the WLTP cycle. It takes only three hours to recharge its battery using any standard 220-volt outlet. Another very attractive feature of this car is that its charging cable is already built-in, so all you need to do is plug it into a standard outlet.
The Ami offers 260 liters of cargo capacity and can transport up to 2 people, including the driver. This is sufficient for making small purchases and additional everyday applications, such as storing sports equipment or anything else that can fit in it.
The Citroën minicars is already a success in Europe, where it sells for about 7,000 Euros, approximately R$ 36,200, or through rental or subscription. In some countries, people from the age of 14 can operate the Ami without the need for a valid driver’s license.
