Six-Seat SUV with SEA-S Modular Architecture
The Zeekr 9X will be the eighth model from the Zeekr brand, a subsidiary of Geely. This is the first vehicle in the lineup built on the SEA-S modular architecture, highlighting the new phase of the automaker’s electrification strategy.
Aimed at the high-end market, the 9X has a capacity for six occupants and directly targets competitors such as the BYD Yangwang U8.
70 kWh CATL Battery Outperforms Rivals
One of the highlights of the 9X is the Freevoy battery manufactured by CATL, with a capacity of 70 kWh. According to the CarNewsChina portal, this is one of the largest battery packs ever used in a plug-in hybrid passenger vehicle.
In comparison, the rival model from BYD features 49 kWh. This gives the Zeekr 9X a significant advantage in energy storage.
The battery also offers extremely fast charging. With a 900V system and 6C technology, it can charge from 20% to 80% in just nine minutes.
The estimated electric range is about 380 km, allowing for long trips with zero emissions and convenience for urban use.
Supercar Performance with 2.0 Turbo Engine and Three Electric Motors
The hybrid propulsion system combines a 2.0 turbo engine with 275 horsepower and three electric motors using silicon carbide technology.
Together, they deliver 1,381 horsepower, performance equivalent to that of three combustion V12 engines. The top speed is 240 km/h.
The model also includes suspension with artificial intelligence and an active stabilizer bar of 48V.
The system automatically adjusts the vehicle’s behavior according to the type of terrain, with specific modes for snow, mud, rocks, and sand.
Reinforced Structure and Level 3 Driving Autonomy
Constructed with 91% high-strength steel and aluminum, the Zeekr 9X has a torsional rigidity of 30,700 lb-ft per degree.
The body features ten reinforced structures designed to withstand high levels of stress.
The top-of-the-line version comes equipped with the G-Pilot H9 assistance system, which offers Level 3 autonomous driving features.
This allows the car to take over some driving tasks, although the driver must remain attentive.
The Zeekr 9X will initially launch in the Chinese market during the third quarter of this year.
The expectation is that the model will strengthen Geely’s presence in the electrified luxury SUV segment, offering high performance, advanced technology, and extensive range.
