After Receiving The Bill For The Battery Replacement Of His Electric Car From Mercedes-Benz, Sanjit Singh Felt He Had Few And Unfortunate Options
According to Singh, in a statement to Leicestershire Live, he felt as if he only had two options: either get rid of the car or pay the absurd amount he was charged. He also stated that he has always opted for cars offered by Mercedes-Benz because he loves the cars they produce and also because of the reliability they always convey to customers.
Singh did not hold back in expressing how horrified he was by the situation. According to the famous used car website ‘Auto Trader’, Singh’s hybrid electric car is now valued at only 15,350 euros.
Mercedes-Benz Speaks Out About The Case
After seeking advice from an electric and hybrid car specialist, Singh was informed that unfortunately there was nothing he could do, since among the replacement prices for electric car batteries, that was the cheapest one available on the market.
Singh also reported that the specialist himself had a 2018 Mercedes-Benz Hybrid model, with exactly the same problem as him. The elderly man explained that the specialist and he searched online forums of Mercedes-Benz to see if they could find others or many people facing the same issues.
And the conclusion they both reached was that this situation is only expected to worsen further. In a statement, the German brand belonging to the Daimler AG group defended itself, ensuring that Mercedes-Benz provides all information regarding vehicle maintenance online, in addition to keeping customers informed about the battery certificate during the purchasing process.
