Without last-minute notice, without an improvised detour, and without an alternative that seems faster at certain times, drivers who need to cross one of the main federal highways in Extremo-Oeste catarinense will need to keep extra patience in their cars for the next few weeks.
Additionally, the earthworks are ongoing, both on the road platform and the accesses, along with the installation of a stormwater drainage system.
Implementation of Metal Barriers and Construction of New Customs
Another relevant aspect of the project is the implementation of metal barriers along the road, which ensure greater safety for drivers and pedestrians. However, the improvements are not limited to the highway.
The project also includes the construction of two new customs at the borders between Brazil-Paraguay and Brazil-Argentina.
At the Brazil-Paraguay customs, which is already progressing further along, the services focus on the cargo depot and the water reservoir.
Furthermore, the central building of the customs is undergoing renovations, and the earthworks for the yards are in progress, which will facilitate the flow of goods and passengers.
Investment and Impact of the Perimetral Leste in Foz do Iguaçu on International Connections
With a total investment of around R$ 86 million to date, the completion of the Perimetral Leste project will be essential for improving connections between Foz do Iguaçu and neighboring countries.
When completed, the new highway will connect BR-277 with the Brazil-Paraguay Integration Bridge and the Tancredo Neves Bridge, providing a faster and safer flow for vehicle traffic between Brazil and neighboring countries.
The project also represents a significant step for the economic development of the western region of Paraná, as well as boosting tourism and trade among the three countries.
The continuous progress of the work ensures that the Perimetral Leste will bring significant benefits to Foz do Iguaçu and the entire region.
