The New Solar Energy Park
Pátria pointed out that the new solar power plant becomes the second largest solar energy park in operation in Brazil, with an estimate to supply about 580 thousand households and avoid the emission of approximately 465 thousand tons of CO2 per year.
The new solar power plant in the city of Oliveira dos Brejinhos, located in the state of Bahia, is installed in an area of over 1 thousand hectares, including reserves, and the plant features more than 1 million bifacial solar panels, 9 thousand trackers, and 122 inverters.

Investments In Renewable Energies
In a statement, the partner of Pátria and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Essentia, Marcelo Souza, pointed out that the renewable energy sector is a strategic area for the manager, in which it has already invested for more than 15 years “and it will certainly continue to be the most relevant in the expansion of the country’s generation matrix.”
Essentia, besides the solar power plant in Bahia, also has the project of the Wind Farm Ventos de São Vitor, with a capacity of 465 MW, under construction in Xique-Xique, Bahia, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. In addition, it is developing a robust pipeline of wind and solar projects, aiming to increase its presence in the renewable generation sector.

The company Solar Newen Bahia Energia has signed a letter of intent with the Secretary of Economic Development (SDE) for the construction of a new photovoltaic power plant aimed at solar energy generation, in the municipality of Barreiras. For the execution of the project, the company estimates to invest R$ 1.080 billion. The venture will hire 990 workers for its construction and create 135 jobs in the operational phase.
The Secretary of Economic Development, Nelson Leal, said that “in July of this year, the Electric Energy Trading Chamber recorded that Bahia ranked second among the states generating solar energy in the country. And this protocol they signed is an indication that the sector is only set to grow in the state,” he adds.
According to the BahiadeValor website, solar energy generation projects in Bahia have already generated 13 thousand direct jobs during the construction phase of those that are already in operation, and SDE estimates that an additional 47.4 thousand direct jobs will be created during the construction phase for the parks that are under construction or will still be initiated.
