State of Minas Gerais will receive a large part of the investments in solar plants
According to Safira Solar's managing partner, Vinícius Ferreira, the state of Minas Gerais has already received the company's first photovoltaic solar power plant and already has another three under construction, which should start operating in the first quarter of the year. comes, through investments of R$ 70 million. The unit, already in operation in Montes Claros, was inaugurated in April, with 5 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity and already serves 534 consumers and 44 commercial clients in more than 200 cities in the state.
The other photovoltaic solar energy plants are being implemented in the municipality of Rio do Prado, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, with investments of R$ 50 million and have a capacity of 2,5 MW each. “With the three new plants, we are going to reach close to 15 thousand customers, generating their own energy in a sustainable way in Minas Gerais. The photovoltaic generation distributed by Safira Solar is completely clean and contributes not only to combating global warming, but also to the energy crisis we face today in Brazil”, he says.
Large projects using solar energy
The company executive did not give many details about the other projects for the solar power plant, claiming that some still depend on approval from the national operator and also on sources of financing. In this regard, he revealed that negotiations are being intermediated by the Brazil China Chamber with a view to attracting financing options from that country.
“The R$ 300 million is the base of what will be done by the company. In a total of 18 projects that have the goal of being approved by February 2022, if 7 are made feasible, we will have R$ 300 million. But if we reach 10 or 12, we can talk about figures close to BRL 500 million ”, he explained.
