German company Lufthansa Technik invests in new unit in Portugal and generates 700 jobs in the country. Register now!
German multinational Lufthansa Technik announced a significant investment in Portugal, with the construction of a new facility in Santa Maria da Feira, in the north of the country. The project, in addition to modernizing the maintenance sector, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft and components, promises to create more than 700 jobs, with recruitment scheduled to begin in 2025, according to the Vagas Pelo Mundo website.
Lufthansa Technik: global reference in MRO
Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Lufthansa Technik is a member of the Lufthansa Group and global leader in aircraft maintenance services, engines and components. The new unit in Portugal, which will be built in the “Lusopark” business park, a about 35 kilometers from Porto, will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
According to Harald Gloy, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, “this is a milestone in the history of Lufthansa Technik. Portugal was chosen for its strategic location in the European Union, political stability, advanced infrastructure and attractive job market.”
