German Company Lufthansa Technik Invests in New Unit in Portugal and Creates 700 Jobs in the Country. Apply Now!
The German multinational Lufthansa Technik announced a significant investment in Portugal, with the construction of a new facility in Santa Maria da Feira, in the north of the country. The project, in addition to modernizing the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector for aircraft and components, promises to create more than 700 jobs, with recruitment expected to start in 2025, according to the website Vagas Pelo Mundo.
Lufthansa Technik: Global Reference in MRO
Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Lufthansa Technik is a member of the Lufthansa Group and global leader in maintenance services for aircraft, engines and components. The new unit in Portugal, which will be built in the “Lusopark” business park, is about 35 kilometers from Porto, will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
According to Harald Gloy, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, “this is a milestone in the history of Lufthansa Technik. Portugal was chosen for its strategic location in the European Union, political stability, advanced infrastructure, and attractive labor market.”
