The New Acquisitions of Veracel to Improve the Transport Logistics of Pulp in the State of Bahia Include High-Tech Cameras That Perform the Checking Process of the Load Automated and Agile in the Transport Chain.
Veracel monitors the need for modernization of its production processes and, this Friday, (07/15), has a whole system of integrated cameras in the transport of pulp in the state of Bahia. Thus, the investment in technology ensures greater agility and an even higher logistical quality, since the checking of the load is being done automatically, speeding up the entire movement process of the product throughout the state of Bahia.
New Automation Technology System from Veracel in the Transport of Pulp in the State of Bahia Ensures Greater Efficiency in Product Movement Logistics
After verifying the need for improvements in the pulp transport chain at the installations in the state of Bahia, Veracel invested in an automation technology system and now ensures greater efficiency in this process. The entire transport chain of the product requires a series of mandatory stops for load checking and meeting requirements in the movement services, but this process often took longer than expected.
Therefore, Veracel decided to invest in technology to accelerate these stages and has just announced the adoption of an automated logistics system that uses cameras with automatic reading of loads during production and shipping, replacing the manual checking previously done. Thus, the pulp transport system in the commercialization of the product by Veracel will now include the use of this technology to make the logistics chain faster.

The system installed by the company will perform automatic readings of vehicles and loads during the product checking processes during transport. To do this, the cameras have image recognition installed during production and the loading of the cargo, which leaves the company’s factory in Eunápolis (BA) and arrives at the Maritime Terminal of Belmonte (BA).
As a way to ensure even greater efficiency, the technology used by the company is known as RFID, or radio frequency technology, which can identify, count, and track products, in addition to allowing automatic release of trucks at the gates and routing of vehicles.
Veracel Seeks to Ensure More Innovation and Technology in the Transport Logistics of Pulp with Plans to Make the Process Fully Automated
One of the main focuses of Veracel currently in the national territory is to ensure greater efficiency and to become a reference company in the adoption of innovation in its production processes. Therefore, the adoption of automation technology for the load checking processes in the transport of pulp is the first step for the company and just one of the focuses for the future.
“This automation of the pulp logistics process is directly linked to Veracel’s innovation strategy and came to completely modernize our pulp route, bringing much more agility and also optimizing the time of the teams, who can now dedicate themselves to more complex activities, while the operational ones are covered by automation technology,” commented Marlon Santos Sousa, Logistics Coordinator at Veracel, regarding the need for new alternatives in these processes.
Thus, Veracel reinforces its stance on the need to use technology to its advantage and hopes that, in the coming years, it will be able to expand the use of automation services in all chains of production and transport of the product in its installations. The company is already significantly invested in this segment and should announce new technologies in the coming months to expand the initiative.
