When and What Will the Tests Be
The objective and essay tests will be held on June 16, 2024, and will last five hours. In total, there will be 60 multiple-choice questions, with five alternatives (A, B, C, D, and E) each and only one correct answer. According to the announcement, the topics covered will be as follows:
- Portuguese Language and Text Interpretation (20 questions);
- Mathematics (15 questions);
- General Knowledge (15 questions);
- Basic Computer Science (five questions);
- and Public Administration Concepts (five questions).
According to the document, the objective test will be scored from zero to 60 points. Therefore, in order to be considered approved, the candidate must obtain at least 30 points. On the other hand, the essay will consist of a writing task that will include auxiliary texts that will serve as a guide to expand the arguments produced by the candidate.
This test will be worth 40 points, with 20 being the minimum for approval. After these tests, those who pass will undergo physical fitness tests to be conducted by the School of Physical Education of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo.
These tests will be as follows: elbow flexion and extension test, using the dynamic bar test for men and isometric in the fixed bar for women; abdominal resistance, in supine position (rowing type); 50-meter run; and a 12-minute run. Each of these tests will be worth between 20 and 100 points, with the candidate needing at least 20 points in each test to be approved.
How to Register for the PM Competition in SP
The person interested in taking the PM competition test in São Paulo should know that registrations will be made through the website of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), which is the organizer of the competition. This will occur from April 1 to May 8. To participate in the PM competition, it will be necessary to pay a fee of R$85.
This amount can be reduced by half if the candidate proves they are a regularly enrolled student in high school, pre-university course, or higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level, or if they receive a monthly income of less than two minimum wages or are unemployed.
