New Public Competition for Firefighters Has an Organizing Body Defined. Firefighters MG 2024 Will Offer 329 Positions for Soldiers, Specialist Soldiers, and Officers.
The new public competition for Firefighters in MG already has an organizing body defined. The National Institute of Educational, Cultural, and Assistive Development (Idecan) will be responsible for the selection. The bidding exemption act, signed by the commander of the Fire Brigade of Minas Gerais, Colonel Peron Batista, confirms 329 positions for candidates with completed high school and higher education of both genders.

The number of positions is the same as authorized at the end of last year, when 303 positions were confirmed for combat soldiers, five positions for health officers, and 21 positions for officers. According to the ratification act published, the 303 positions for combat soldiers in the Firefighters MG competition will be divided into 291 for the soldier training course and 12 for the specialist soldier training course.
So far, there is no defined schedule for the publication of the announcement and next steps. With the announced organizing body, the next step for the public competition for Firefighters will be the signing of the contract.

Requirements to Participate in the Public Competition
For Soldiers the minimum requirements are completed high school, age between 18 and 30 years on the date of enrollment for inclusion, minimum height of 1.60 m, National Driver’s License (CNH) at least category B. The salary of a 2nd Class soldier will be entitled, during the Training Course period, to a remuneration with the initial amount of R$ 4,360.83.
For Specialist Soldiers, the requirements are completed high school and a technical course in the area of specialty they are competing for; age between 18 and 30 years on the date of enrollment for inclusion, minimum height of 1.60 m, National Driver’s License (CNH), at least category B. The 2nd Class soldier will be entitled, during the Training Course period, to remuneration with the initial amount of R$ 4,360.83.
For Officers, the requirement is completed high school, age between 18 and 30 years on the date of enrollment for inclusion, minimum height of 1.60 m, National Driver’s License (CNH) at least category B. The initial salaries, during the Training Course period, are R$ 7,175.30. Those approved for all positions will also be entitled to clothing allowance and medical, psychological, and dental assistance.
Learn How the Last Firefighters MG Competition Went
Held last year, the last public competition for Firefighters MG had the announcement published in September 2022. The selection offered 385 positions for soldiers and officers. The selection comprised objective tests and an essay, physical fitness test (TCF), and admission exams.
For specialist soldiers, there was also an experience and training step professional (Motomec/Communications and Health), in addition to a practical test for musicians.
The test consisted of 50 questions for all positions. The essay required the production of a prose text, of the argumentative type, on a contemporary theme of social, scientific, or cultural order.
