The New Unified Contest of Pernambuco Promises to Change the Logic of State Exams. Instead of Concentrating Everything in the Capital, the Tests Will Be Held in 10 Cities Spread Across the State, Including Cities in the Sertão and Agreste.

The Government of Pernambuco Announced a New Format for Public Contests. It Is the Unified Public Contest of Pernambuco (CPU-PE), Which Will Offer 455 Vacancies in Nine State Agencies. The Model Follows the Patterns of the Unified National Contest but with Regional Application.

The Most Important Thing Is That the Tests Will Be Held in Ten Cities in the State, Including Regional Capitals and Cities in the Sertão.

With This, the CPU-PE Breaks with the Tradition of Centralized Tests in Recife and Expands Access for Candidates Living in the Interior.

The Cities That Will Host Tests Are: Recife, Carpina, Palmares, Caruaru, Arcoverde, Floresta, Afogados da Ingazeira, Salgueiro, Araripina, and Petrolina.

Interior Takes Center Stage in the Contest

Governor Raquel Lyra Informed That the Process of Hiring the Examination Boards Is Already Underway. Although the Official Notice Has Not Yet Been Published, the Decision to Decentralize Tests Is Already Official.

This Represents a Significant Change. In Previous State Contests, Many Candidates from the Sertão or Agreste Had to Travel to the Capital to Take the Tests.

Now, Cities Like Afogados da Ingazeira, Floresta, and Araripina Have a Strategic Role in Accessing Public Service.

Moreover, This Measure May Reduce Travel Costs and Increase Regional Diversity Among Future State Servants.

Vacancies in Diverse Areas and Agencies

The Unified Contest Will Offer Opportunities for High School and Higher Education, with a Total of 40 Different Positions or Specialties.

The Approved Candidates Will Work in Regulatory Agencies, Foundations, Secretariats, and the State Institute of Weights and Measures.

See the Distribution of Vacancies by Agency:

  • ARPE: 50 Vacancies for Regulation Analyst.
  • ATI: 88 Vacancies for Information Technology Analyst.
  • CPRH: 98 Vacancies (56 for Environmental Analyst and 42 for Environmental Assistant).
  • Ipem: 39 Vacancies (3 Analysts and 36 Metrology Assistants).
  • Funape: 15 Vacancies (11 Social Security Analysts and 4 Social Security-Juridical Analysts).
  • Funase: 29 Vacancies in Socioeducational Assistance (Nutritionists, Social Workers, and Pedagogues).
  • SAD: 82 Vacancies (53 Administrative Managers and 29 Accountants).
  • Seplag: 27 Vacancies for Managers in Planning, Budget, and Management.
  • SCGE: 27 Vacancies for Internal Control Managers.

Each Candidate May Apply for Three Positions

Another Novelty Is the Possibility of Applying for More Than One Vacancy. The Official Notice Will Allow Each Person to Choose Up to Three Different Positions, Which Increases Approval Chances and Makes the Process More Dynamic.

This Strategy Has Already Been Used in the Federal CNU and Will Be Adopted in the State Model, with the Same Logic of Unified Testing and Subsequent Distribution of Approved Candidates According to Performance and Order of Preference.

Therefore, the CPU-PE Combines Geographic Reach with Greater Flexibility for Candidates. The Proposal Seeks to Value Meritocracy and Efficiency in the Selection of Public Servants.

The Official Notice Still Does Not Have a Publication Date

Despite the Official Announcement, the Contest Notice Has Not Yet Been Disclosed. The Expectation Is That This Will Occur After the Hiring of the Organizing Agency, Which Is in the Definition Phase.

Even Without the Publication, Many Candidates Have Already Started Preparing.

The Distribution of Vacancies and the Selection of Cities Already Provide an Important Basis for Planning Their Studies.
