Federal Government Plans To Invest R$ 7.1 Billion In First Phase Of The Program
The Pé-de-Meia program, launched by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Education (MEC), is an initiative aimed at reducing school dropout rates among low-income students enrolled in public high schools.
The initiative, structured as an educational savings plan, provides benefits that can reach up to R$ 9,200 over the three years of high school.
The goal is to ensure students’ retention in school, preventing early dropouts and promoting the completion of basic education. Unlike other student assistance programs, this one does not require direct registration by beneficiaries, as the state education networks automatically pass on the data to the Ministry of Education.
With the first phase receiving investments of R$ 7.1 billion, the government plans to expand educational and social opportunities for young people in vulnerable situations.
