The German company, with design signed in Brazil, bets on some changes that promise to heat up the segment of compact pickups. The highlight is the revamped look and the maintenance of the robust mechanics that is already a trademark of the line.

If you were expecting innovation in the lighting system, you will have to wait a little longer. The Saveiro retains halogen headlights and incandescent turn signals.

Many consumers believed that, for the car’s price, it was already time for Volkswagen to adopt LEDs, both in the headlights and in the daytime running lights.

Wheels, Safety, and Capacity

The wheels are 15-inch with 205/60 tires, a maintenance that does not excite much. The disc brake system on all four wheels is complemented by features such as ABS, EBD, traction control, and hill start assist.

Safety, however, is compromised by the absence of side airbags, a point that Volkswagen should rethink in future versions.

The bed of the Saveiro Extreme 2024 features tie-down hooks and a capacity for 605 kg or 580 liters. An interesting functionality is the smooth opening of the tailgate, which avoids sudden impacts when released. The closing system via the Volkswagen logo also proves to be practical for daily use.

The dashboard, although made of plastic, has a modern design that aligns with the “Extreme” proposal of the model. The new Volkswagen Saveiro Extreme 2024 brings a series of improvements and also some questions.

The price of the new Saveiro ranges from 100,000 reais to 117,000 reais; check the Fipe table.

The refreshed design contrasts with the maintenance of older elements, such as the halogen headlights and the safety system below expectations.
