Explosion in Job Openings: The Impact of Public Policies

According to the Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE), the number of job openings in the construction sector increased by 30% between January and November 2024, compared to the same period in the previous year.

This advancement reflects public policies that drive job creation and economic development in the state.

The Construction Union of the State of São Paulo (Sinduscon-SP) reported that the São Paulo sector represents 27.6% of the national segment, which accounts for 4% of Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

This distinction positions São Paulo as the main growth hub of the construction sector in the country.

Over a Thousand Opportunities Are Waiting for You

Currently, the Worker Assistance Posts (PATs) offer 1,234 job openings throughout the state of São Paulo, particularly in the following roles:

Construction Laborer: 440 openings;
Mason: 349 openings;
Carpenter: 180 openings;
Painter: 49 openings;
Installation Electrician: 41 openings.

According to Mariana Rodrigues, operations coordinator at the SDE, “The growth in job openings in the construction sector highlights the positive impact of public policies aimed at job creation and economic development. Our goal is to continue supporting workers and connecting them with market demands.”

Free Services and Support for Workers

In addition to job openings, the PATs offer various services to the public. Among these are:

Eligibility for Unemployment Insurance;
Guidance on the Digital Work Card;
Information on free professional qualification courses through the Qualifica SP program, promoted by the SDE.

These services are not limited to workers.

Companies and employers looking for professionals can also use the PATs to conduct selection processes for free.

How to Apply for the Job Openings?

For those who wish to apply for one of the available positions, the process is simple.

Just visit one of the more than 200 PAT units in the state of São Paulo, bringing your ID, CPF, and Work Card.
