Listed for 40 million rubles, the property built by businessman Vladimir Galaganov comprises 1,100 square meters, walls, archer towers, and a 1.2-hectare plot on the banks of the Don River, but still awaits a buyer willing to complete the medieval project.
On the banks of the Don River, 1,100 square meters draw attention for combining residence, walls, and archer towers. The modern fortress occupies a 1.2-hectare plot in the village of Peskovatka.
The property is for sale for 40 million rubles. The amount is equivalent to US$ 550,000. The construction is located hundreds of meters from the nearest house and belongs to real estate developer Vladimir Galaganov.
Modern fortress was born from a dream
Galaganov gained attention in Russia in 2021 when he listed the property on real estate platforms. He stated that he always wanted to build the castle and that the project was the closest attempt to turn that dream into reality.

Between Egypt and Sudan, Bir Tawil is no man’s land that neither country wants on paper, but in practice has gold mining, nomadic tribes, and even fake “kings.”
The businessman, however, did not complete everything he planned. The intention was to organize Cossack and knight tournaments, using the space also as a cultural center, as well as a residence and defensive structure inspired by the Middle Ages.
According to Galaganov, building a fortress takes time. The tournaments never happened, and he hopes that a future buyer can finish the project.
Price dropped before rising again
The initial asking price was 33 million rubles. A month later, there was a reduction of half a million. The price continued to drop until reaching 27.7 million rubles in the summer of 2023.
Now, the modern fortress has reappeared listed for 40 million rubles. Galaganov explained that he built the property for his own use, but circumstances changed and he needs money.
Among the possibilities mentioned are housing, hotel, tourist camp, or recreation center.
The property arouses curiosity due to its size, isolation, and medieval appearance. Would you live in such a fortress, turn the space into a hotel, or complete the original project with tournaments and cultural activities?
