Construction Company Signs Contract with the Secretariat of Infrastructure of Santa Catarina for Execution of Slope Stabilization Work on the Serra do Rio do Rastro Road

On November 7, the consortium led by Teixeira Duarte – Engineering and Construction S.A. signed an agreement with the State Department of Infrastructure and Mobility of Santa Catarina for the execution of slope stabilization work at 25 points along the SC-390 road that cuts through the Serra do Rio do Rastro, located in the southern part of the state.

The concession-construction contract has an expected execution period of 1 year and an investment equivalent to 4.3 million Euros. The project is handled by FGS Geotechnics, which is part of the consortium with a 2.5% stake, while Teixeira Duarte holds 97.5%.

Known for its beautiful landscapes and waterfalls, the Serra do Rio do Rastro is one of the calling cards of the state of Santa Catarina and is crossed by a highway over 35 kilometers long, connecting the municipalities of Bom Jardim da Serra to Lauro Muller.

The execution of works along this highway is highly anticipated by local communities, as constant landslides have been recorded in recent years, preventing traffic on the affected stretches.

About Teixeira Duarte

Teixeira Duarte operates in construction areas including Geotechnics and Foundations, Rehabilitation, Buildings, Infrastructure, Metalworking, Road Works, Underground Works, Railway Works, and Maritime, Fluvial and Port Works, and has been involved in engineering projects and services of high complexity, ensuring the quality of its operations, continuous customer satisfaction, improvement in the quality of life for its employees, environmental preservation, and respect for society.
