Correios, ApexBrasil, and Shopee Establish Partnership Focused on Expanding Brazilian E-Commerce to Various Southeast Asian Countries.
Correios, the Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil), and Shopee, one of the largest e-commerce companies, have joined together in a strategic partnership to enhance the export of Brazilian products to Southeast Asian countries.
Through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the three institutions will collaborate to expand and promote the sales of companies from the country in Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Agreement Between Correios, Shopee, and ApexBrasil Foresees Several Initiatives
Fabiano Silva dos Santos, president of Correios, states that this partnership with Shopee and ApexBrasil will be essential for opening new horizons for small and micro businesses in the country, enabling them to access the Southeast Asian market with logistical support from the postal company.

The formalization of the memorandum will occur during the 4th edition of the E-xport Meeting, a traditional gathering promoted by ApexBrasil aimed at the internationalization of Brazilian companies through e-commerce.
Partnership Focuses on Better Insertion of the Country in the Southeast Asian Market
The partnership will include the implementation of a cross-border pilot project aimed at Brazilian companies interested in exporting to Singapore, in Southeast Asia. In this project, up to 10 companies with export potential will be selected, and the export process will begin in the second half of 2023.
The focus is to map the main difficulties in selling Brazilian products in the region and identify the best business opportunities through e-commerce, aiming to facilitate the access of Brazilian goods to Singapore and expand the number of companies served.

The trade balance in December of last year was US$ 4.8 billion, according to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex). The value of exports reached US$ 26.6 billion, while imports totaled US$ 21.9 billion.
