OZ Earth’s project foresees complete restructuring of the industrial plant, job creation, and progressive expansion of production in three operational phases
The reactivation of the former Cosulati factory, located in Capão do Leão, was confirmed after OZ Earth Participações finalized the auction purchase of the industrial plant for R$ 49.1 million, which reorganizes the local production structure, resumes industrial activities, and projects a new dynamic based on the gradual processing of milk and dairy products. The company has set a technical timeline that foresees the return of operations within a period of 12 to 18 months, including operational tests, structural adjustments, and workforce organization, while the initial capacity will be directed to receiving between 100,000 and 200,000 liters of milk per day. This planning demonstrates that the resumption was structured in progressive stages, allowing for equipment adaptation, validation of industrial processes, and consistent progress of the operation according to technical parameters disclosed in an official statement.
Industrial resumption begins with a focus on strategic dairy products
The first operational phase was defined with a focus on the production of powdered milk, butter, dulce de leche, cream, condensed milk, and whey powder, which establishes an initial production base focused on items with greater industrial viability. During this period, the facility will have up to 120 workers, while production will be gradually stabilized to ensure operational efficiency and quality in the processes. This direction indicates that the company has structured a solid foundation to support the evolution of the following stages, allowing the plant to advance with predictability and control over its installed capacity.
Productive expansion increases capacity and number of workers
The second phase of the project foresees a significant expansion of production, raising the daily volume to a range between 250,000 and 300,000 liters of processed milk, while the team will be expanded to up to 160 to 180 workers. This advancement consolidates the industrial operation, increases productive efficiency, and allows for greater diversification of manufactured products, according to the plan released by the company itself. The adopted model follows a phased logic, in which each stage contributes directly to strengthening the unit’s production structure.

Full operation will be reached in the third year of operation
The third phase is planned to occur by the third year of operation, when the plant is expected to reach a volume between 450,000 and 550,000 liters of milk per day, with an estimated average of 500,000 liters daily. At this stage, the number of workers could reach up to 250, consolidating the operation at its maximum capacity. According to OZ Earth, this moment represents the full operation of the factory, with the full range of dairy products being offered according to the unit’s original project.
Structural investments and regularization advance simultaneously
The company estimates a total investment of R$ 120 million in renovations and improvements, covering the recovery of the industrial plant, modernization of equipment, and technical adjustments necessary for the resumption of activities. The amount raised in the auction will be used to pay for more than 300 labor lawsuits, which is part of the unit’s financial regularization process. Currently, about 30 workers are active in the initial recovery phase, while from the sixth month onward, an expansion of the team is planned for organizing workstations and industrial production.
Technical restructuring defines the operation of the factory’s central areas
A relevant stage of the project involves the restructuring of the central part of the factory, which includes the milk pasteurization units, the two drying towers, the butter production unit, the powder milk fractionation, and the packaging of UHT milk and condensed milk. The company reported that it has already requested the connection to the power grid, hired companies for civil engineering projects, structural adjustments, and environmental licenses, in addition to submitting registrations with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply. This set of actions demonstrates that the reactivation follows a detailed technical plan, in which each stage was defined to ensure efficiency, regularization, and productive continuity over time.
