The Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA) Monte Castelo Campus is open for registrations from October 10 to November 3 for the simplified selection process of the TIC Residency Project, an innovative initiative that aims to offer a free online IT course for training and improvement of students and professionals in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). The objective of the IT course with a certificate is to offer initial and continuing education (FIC) courses in Embedded Systems, in a distance learning (EaD) format.
The selection for the free online course involves a total of 1,000 available positions, of which 500 are aimed at the internal community of servers and students of IFMA, which is a training hub for the program, and 500 positions open to the community.

The IT course with a certificate in Embedded Systems has a total workload of 160 hours, structured into synchronous and asynchronous classes, theoretical-practical challenges, mentoring, and self-study. The curriculum covers everything from an introduction to embedded systems to advanced concepts of microcontrollers, peripherals, and Internet of Things (IoT).
At the end of the free online course, a selection will be held for the Technological Residency in Embedded Systems, where up to 100 students will be selected to work on real projects, in partnership with companies.
The IFMA technological residency will be conducted in a hybrid format, online and in-person at the Monte Castelo campus. Participants in the online IT course will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 3,1 thousand and will have 12 months of practical training with advanced knowledge tracks.
Who Can Participate in the IT Course with a Certificate?
Regarding the target audience for the selection process, the notice informs that individuals from all over Brazil aged 18 or older at the time of registration can apply for the vacancies in the free online course, as well as having completed high school.
It is also necessary to meet at least one of the following conditions: to be enrolled in or have completed a technical course in the areas of Industrial Control and Processes or Information and Communication, or a higher education or graduate course in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Engineering, and related areas.
The selection also requires that the candidate present proven professional experience or specific competencies in these areas.
Registrations for the IT course with a certificate will be conducted exclusively online, through the completion of electronic forms available on the Monte Castelo Campus website, where candidates must attach documents such as ID, enrollment confirmation, completion certificate, updated resume, and proof of residence.
As for the classification criteria, candidates for the online IT course will be classified based on the points obtained in the Cultural Fit (45 points in total), the highest level of education, and resume analysis. The expected date for the announcement of the final result is November 7, with classes starting on the 18th.
