USP’s Free Summer Courses Offer 7 Thousand Online Places Across Brazil
The University of São Paulo (USP) has opened registrations for 7 thousand places in free summer courses, fully online and accessible to interested individuals across Brazil, without requiring a link with the institution. Thus, the initiative expands training opportunities and democratizes access to knowledge.
Classes start on February 2, 2026, while registrations begin on January 19 and are conducted exclusively online. In this way, USP facilitates the participation of students, professionals, and the general public.
The free courses are part of the 2026 Summer Courses program, organized by the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters, and Human Sciences (FFLCH), through the Culture and Extension Commission (CCEx). Furthermore, the remote format allows access for participants from all regions of Brazil.

To obtain the completion certificate, the participant must attend at least 75% of the classes, according to the rules established by the university.
Free Courses Reinforce USP’s Role in Disseminating Knowledge
According to Professor Wagner Ribeiro from the Department of Geography and President of CCEx, the courses represent a concrete opportunity for bridging the university and society. “The courses expand access to fundamental debates of our time and strengthen the university’s public role,” the professor states.
He emphasizes that the proposal for summer courses aims to stimulate critical reflection and access to relevant content, especially in a context of rapid social, political, and cultural transformations in Brazil and the world.
