On social media, Xu Bo often presents himself as the “First Dad of China.” In a video published in 2022, a line of dozens of boys appears in a mansion.
As the camera moves closer, the children stand up and run toward the cameraman, shouting “Dad!.”

Inspiration from Elon Musk and Dynastic Ambitions
Xu Bo has publicly declared that he is inspired by historical and contemporary figures known for having many children. Among them are Genghis Khan, Nick Cannon, Mr. Catra, and, most notably, Elon Musk.
The Chinese billionaire has even claimed that he would like to unite his empire with that of the South African businessman through the marriage of their children.
It is worth noting that Musk currently has 14 publicly recognized children.
Court Decision in the United States
In 2023, a California judge reviewed Xu Bo’s requests for parental rights over unborn children, as well as others already born through surrogacy.
During a confidential hearing, the businessman stated that he intended to father 20 or more male children in the U.S., considering them superior to take over his businesses in the future.
However, the judge denied the request.
According to court records, many of these children lived in a house in California, cared for by nannies, and the businessman himself admitted that he had yet to meet several of the children personally.
A Case That Blends Power, Money, and Ethical Boundaries
Despite the unprecedented scope of the case, Xu Bo has not yet reached the fictional number of 533 children depicted in the movie Suddenly Father.
