The Initiative Presented By The Dubai Municipality Brings Together More Than 25 Companies And Academic Institutions In An International Consortium To Test, In Real Conditions, The Construction Of A Fully Automated Residence, Integrated With Center 04 ConTech Valley And Aligned With The 70-70 Strategy For Industrialization Of The Sector By 2030
Dubai announced an international initiative to deliver what it claims to be the world’s first residence built entirely by robotic systems, integrating more than 25 companies, academic institutions, and local authorities, focusing on total automation, operational efficiency, and application in real housing projects.
International Project Of Integral Automation In Construction
The Dubai Municipality announced the project as a milestone in the integration of robotics into the everyday life of the construction industry. The proposal aims to demonstrate that automated systems can operate beyond experimental pilot projects, functioning reliably in complete residential developments.
More than 25 technology companies and academic institutions will participate through an international consortium. The management will be conducted by the Dubai Municipality together with Zacua Ventures and the Würth Group, responsible for the technical and operational coordination of the program.

After the union of Brazil and China, BRICS plays a leading role in the merger between two powers: Egypt and India move forward with agreements exceeding US$ 4 billion, expanding industrial capacity in strategic sectors and accelerating the establishment of factories and global production chains.
The central focus is on scalability, cost efficiency, and on-site integration. Unlike isolated tests, the project aims to automate the entire construction process, ensuring that the finished house meets real housing standards.
Authorities emphasize that the goal is not to create a demonstrative prototype, but rather a functional residence that can meet practical demands for use, safety, and structural performance in the urban context of Dubai.
04 ConTech Valley As A Permanent Testing Environment
The initiative was presented during the launch of the Innovation and Research Center in Construction, known as 04 ConTech Valley. The facility is located in Expo City Dubai and will serve as a permanent testing environment for advanced construction systems.
The center will support experiments with robotic construction tools, cutting-edge materials, and digital infrastructure technologies. Startups, developers, and researchers will be able to test solutions under real operating conditions.
Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of the Dubai Municipality, stated that advanced construction technologies are a fundamental pillar of the emirate’s development strategy. According to him, automation can increase efficiency, sustainability, and long-term resilience.
Bin Ghalita added that the initiative seeks to help promising technologies advance from initial development to commercial use, strengthening the local innovation ecosystem. The statement was published in a report by Gulf News.
Municipal authorities also hope that successful projects at the center will influence future regulations and be integrated into public and private developments at various scales.
Global Investments And Regulatory Coordination
The announcement was accompanied by the release of the Global Construction Technology Report, the ConTech Report, prepared by the Dubai Municipality. The document estimates that global investment in construction technology will exceed US$ 30 billion by 2033.
The forecast indicates an annual growth of 17.5%, driven by labor shortages and the demand for faster project delivery. Advances in additive manufacturing and robotics have also increased confidence in automated methods.
To coordinate this transition, Dubai established a new ConTech Working Group in partnership with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The platform brings together governmental agencies, developers, investors, and researchers.
The group will work on regulatory alignment, defining investment structures, and technological standardization, aiming to accelerate the adoption of automated solutions while maintaining safety and construction quality.
70-70 Strategy And Industrial Transformation Of Construction
The Dubai Municipality also presented the 70-70 Strategy in partnership with Sobha Realty. The plan sets clear automation goals for the local construction sector by 2030.
According to the strategy, construction companies should transfer 70% of construction activities to factories off-site. These units, in turn, will automate 70% of their production processes.
Authorities state that off-site construction can reduce waste, improve quality control, and decrease operational risks. High levels of automation are also expected to shorten delivery times.
Together, the initiatives indicate a structural transformation of the construction industry in Dubai.
The robotic homes project represents a visible step towards an industrialized, scalable, and technology-driven model, consolidating new directions for the sector.
