The duplication of 100 kilometers of BR-340, located in Rio Grande do Norte, represents one of the largest investments of the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC).
The Ministry of Transport officially launched the project in October 2024, with a total investment of R$ 1 billion in structural works.
These interventions are divided into seven lots, covering strategic sections between Mossoró and Assú, as well as Macaíba and Riachuelo.
Additionally, the ministry emphasized that the main objective is to improve traffic flow and increase road safety.
At the same time, the plan aims to stimulate regional economic development, connecting more cities and boosting the potiguar economy.
Therefore, the federal government reinforces its commitment to modernizing the national road network, which promotes integration between productive hubs and encourages new private investments.

With the duplication works, 5.5 thousand direct and indirect jobs are expected to arise, which will help to boost the local economy and strengthen the infrastructure sector.
Consequently, the measure will benefit thousands of drivers and freight carriers.
