Alternatives from Eletrobras
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is conducting research to present alternatives for Eletrobras and its subsidiaries Eletronuclear and Itaipu. Ferreira Júnior informed that the most obvious action was the spin-off of Eletrobras.
Ferreira Júnior states that “You create a company Eletrobras B and place Eletronuclear and Itaipu under it. The shareholders are the same. It’s as if it were a mirror company, where on one side is the current Eletrobras B and on the other are Eletronuclear and Itaipu. The same shareholders own these two assets, with the participation they have today.”
