After A Long Wait Of 14 Years, EMBRAPA (Brazilian Agricultural Research Company) Confirmed A New Public Competition!
After more than a decade without new competitions, EMBRAPA finally brought news that many had been eagerly awaiting. The president of the institution, Silvia Massruhá, announced that 890 positions will be distributed over the coming years, starting in 2024. The first 268 positions will be offered in the next announcement, expected to be released in the first half of 2024. These opportunities cover careers as Researcher, Technician, and Analyst, with salaries that can reach up to R$ 11 thousand, according to financialcolumn.
Reasons For The New EMBRAPA Competition
The confirmation of the new EMBRAPA competition came on August 9, 2023, through President Silvia Massruhá. The main reason for this selection is the current deficit of employees in the institution. Since the last competition held in 2014, EMBRAPA had been using a reserve list, but the situation worsened with a layoff program in 2019, which resulted in the departure of many employees close to retirement. This competition therefore arrives at a critical moment, filling gaps and ensuring the full functioning of the company.
Details Of The Positions
In total, 890 positions have been authorized and will be distributed over four years. However, internal studies indicate that the need may reach 1,126 professionals, considering budgetary impact. This suggests that EMBRAPA might include positions for a reserve list, in addition to immediate opportunities. According to Portaria SEST/SEDDMME No. 8.698/2021, the institution has a total limit of 8,934 positions, divided between the permanent staff (8,893) and the temporary staff of amnesty recipients (41). Currently, EMBRAPA has around 7.8 thousand active employees.
