WEG Provides High-Reliability Technology and Solutions for a Russian Cement Company
Novoroscement, a cement company from Russia, was seeking greater reliability in its plant, as well as reducing maintenance costs with the new motor. The company chose WEG’s product, demonstrating the strength of the company and its ability to create products that appeal to markets worldwide.
The Russian market scenario was taken into account. In addition, Novoroscement also had some special requirements, such as connections to the power grid and control lines, such as motor interchangeability.
After all these important details, Novoroscement now has the best technology available on the market for ring motors, featuring a motorized system for lifting brushes. The motor provided by WEG is part of Line M, 6,400 kW, 6 poles, 6 kV. The motor was applied in the primary mill of the Russian cement company.

WEG Develops Customized Motor for Novorosciment
Now, Novorosciment has in hand a fully interchangeable motor customized by WEG. In addition, it is adding to the new M Line Mining lifting, delivering an integrated product with differentiators to the Russian client.
The mill is one of the most important pieces of equipment in a cement factory, and if the equipment is out of operation, it can lead to substantial production loss. Due to Novorosciment’s production requirements, plant downtime had to be minimized.
Novorosciment was assured that the expected timeline and efficiency would be achieved because of all the planning and leadership that WEG demonstrated throughout the process. Novorosciment is one of the oldest cement companies in Russia, founded in 1882, with 136 years of history. To this day, it remains one of the most important companies in the country.
WEG Supplies Equipment for Mining Company in Russia
Recently, WEG announced the supply of mining equipment in Russia. A Russian mining company opted for WEG’s special electric motors. The equipment promises significantly lower maintenance costs for the mills. The electric motors were delivered by WEG in July of last year; however, due to sanitary restrictions, commissioning was postponed to December. See the image below.
