Surf Tech Internet Company Partners With Rumo Logística for Fiber Optic Installation on the Company’s Railways Focusing on 5G Technology

With the granting of the rails of Rumo Logística for the installation of the fiber optic of Surf Tech, the company will be able to use the railways to develop a true 5G technology network and bring quality internet to municipalities across the country. 

The internet and technology company Surf Tech signed a contract with Rumo Logística and is already developing its project. This involves the installation of a fiber optic network on the more than 14,000 kilometers of railways managed by the company throughout Brazil, as a way to provide 5G technology to municipalities in the country.

Partnership Between Surf Tech and Rumo Logística Will Enable 5G Technology Transmission Through Fiber Optic Network Installation on Brazilian Railroads

Aiming for an increasingly technological and digitalized future, Rumo Logística has just established a partnership with Surf Tech for the granting of its rails and the installation of a fiber optic network on the company’s railways. Thus, the technology company will install this service on the more than 14,000 kilometers of the concessionaire in Brazil and will use the rails to bring 5G technology to Brazilian municipalities. 

The railway network of Rumo crosses a total of 9 states in the national territory and, with the contract, will be responsible for bringing quality internet to the population of this region through Surf Tech’s fiber optic network. In its first phase, the partnership with logistics company Rumo foresees an investment of R$ 1.5 billion, to be raised through the issuance of debentures by Surf Tech. Therefore, Rumo will participate in the partnership only by granting its railways for this installation to take place. 

The entire fiber optic network has been well designed by the technology company to ensure quality connectivity in the municipalities of these nine states. Thus, the total fiber network will have a capacity of 1 Exabps, equivalent to about one billion Gbps. Therefore, the company’s new internet network will be a million times more powerful than a submarine cable connecting Brazil to the United States. Surf Tech will then be able to reinforce its presence in the fiber optic sector in the country and attract more investors for its business. 

More Than 500 Municipalities Covered by Rumo’s Railways Will Benefit From 5G Technology After Fiber Optic Network Installation

Thus, the more than 500 municipalities covered by Rumo’s railways will have a fully efficient and quality connection after the fiber optic network installation.
