Trek Electric Moped Can Reach Up to 42 km/h with Pedal Assist and Can Achieve a Range of 96 km.

Trek, widely recognized for its world-renowned e-bikes, surprised the market with the announcement of its brand new electric moped. This new model, named Electra Ponto Go!, will be launched under the banner of Electra, a subsidiary of the American giant. With this launch, Trek clearly aims to expand its presence in the electric vehicle landscape.

Trek Electric Moped Has Impressive Features

The Electra Ponto Go! stands out with several innovative features. Its design, for instance, is exceptionally ergonomic, with an extended seat that comfortably accommodates a second passenger, which is a rarity in this category.

Moreover, its vertical structure, complemented by a raised handlebar, provides a distinct and enjoyable riding experience. In terms of performance, the moped can reach an impressive 32 km/h when operated by the throttle and, surprisingly, can go up to 42 km/h with pedal assist.

The motor, strategically positioned at the rear, boasts a powerful 750 W, easily exceeding traditional e-bike standards in the U.S.

And certainly, one of the most anticipated aspects for any vehicle enthusiast is the range. The Electra Ponto Go! does not disappoint in this regard. Equipped with a battery of 650 Wh, the moped promises a range that can extend up to 96 km, although this value may vary depending on the riding mode.

Electra Ponto Go! Comes Fully Equipped from the Factory and Is Available in Four Different Colors

As for accessories, the Electra Ponto Go! is richly adorned. From fenders to LED lights with rear indicators, hydraulic disc brakes, a modern eight-speed gear system, a specialized Quad Lock mount for smartphones, and a practical rear support bar, the moped has been designed to meet a wide variety of user needs.

For those who are more particular about aesthetics, this model will be available in four vibrant colors and will be sold starting at US$ 2,699.

Electra Ponto Go! Will Need Licensing and Require a Driver’s License to Operate, If It Comes to Brazil

It is important to highlight in this article that in July 2023, new regulations for electric bicycles and mopeds were implemented by the National Traffic Council (Contran) in Brazil. These rules, aligned with guidelines from major nations like China, the United States, and Canada, aim to ensure safe and organized circulation of these vehicles.

In this regard, if the Electra Ponto Go! is sold in Brazil, it will need to be regulated by the traffic authorities, and the driver will need to possess a driver’s license or permit to operate a moped.

Trek, with the launch of the Electra Ponto Go!, demonstrates that it is ahead of its time and ready to redefine expectations regarding electric vehicles. If sustainability and innovation are on your list of priorities when choosing a vehicle, this electric moped deserves your attention.
