Marked Presence of National Companies at the Main Global Oil and Gas Fair
More than 55 Brazilian companies participated in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2024, which concluded this Thursday in Houston, United States. The event, recognized as the most important in the world in the oil and gas sector, focused on the offshore supply chain and had a strong Brazilian presence, which stood out for its active participation in discussions about technology and innovation for a sustainable energy future.
Energy Transition in Focus
During the five days of the conference, Brazilian companies in the Oil and Gas sector played a fundamental role in various activities, from business rounds to panels and strategic meetings, mainly discussing the transition to a more sustainable and low-carbon energy model.
Brazilian Contribution at the Forefront of Innovation
Pedro Ghiatã, CEO of Infotec Brasil, highlighted the importance of the event for the national market. “Participating in OTC this year was crucial, especially because the central theme was the energy transition. We observed many opportunities for the Brazilian industry to stand out, learn about new technologies, develop partnerships, and advance in innovation,” said Ghiatã. Infotec Brasil, specialized in outsourcing services and processes, sent a delegation of leaders to the event, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the sector in the country.

International Recognition of Petrobras
One of the highlights for Brazil at OTC was the awarding of the “Distinguished Achievement Award” to Petrobras, which was recognized for its innovations in the Campos Basin, especially in the Marlim field. The award, received by Jean Paul Prates, president of Petrobras, highlights the technological advancements that allowed a significant increase in production in the region, showcasing the technical and innovative potential of the Brazilian company.
Integration and Cooperation in the Global Scenario
The event was also a platform for other significant meetings involving Brazilian professionals. The “6th Meeting of Brazilians,” organized by FGV Energia, and the “Brazil Energy Meeting,” which took place the day before OTC, are examples of how Brazilian companies are seeking not only to gather information but also to share knowledge and foster international partnerships. During these meetings, topics such as scientific and technological advancements in offshore resources were widely debated.
Strategic Partnerships and Decarbonization
In the spotlight, the ABS Meeting addressed the maritime and technological agreement between ABS and Seatrium, aimed at accelerating decarbonization and supporting the energy transition, demonstrating Brazil’s active involvement in global sustainability initiatives.
