Additionally, the Zona da Mata region in Minas Gerais was chosen by the Energisa Group for factors that include future vision and the company’s century-long history. The municipality of Cataguases – Minas Gerais is part of this region and has evolved alongside Energisa, which is regarded as the largest private company in the electricity sector in Brazil and has 117 years of history. Thus, after more than a hundred years, the Energisa Group is leveraging its innovation strategy to ensure the continuity of development and improvement in this region.
CEO of the Group Highlights the Importance of the Project in Creating an Innovative Ecosystem and Generating Jobs and Opportunities
According to Ricardo Botelho, the establishment of Rio Pomba Valley is just the first step, with ideals centered around education and expanded opportunities, aimed at fostering a creative and innovative environment focused on technology in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais. He further stated that the initiative was born to meet a demand that is technology-based, taking advantage of an environment with universities, vocational training institutions, and a strong history of entrepreneurship and creation.
The project operates in four spheres of great importance to Energisa: education through a creative and innovative environment; associations with public and private institutions to strengthen the program; creation of a favorable ecosystem for the development of small and medium entrepreneurs; and the community, fostering collaboration and joint action among companies, universities, and startups.
