In a Strategic Move for Foreign Trade, More Than 250 Brazilian Companies Have Been Authorized to Export to the Chinese Market, Including a Product Affected by Barriers in the U.S.
The new authorization for the export of Brazilian coffee to China has a validity of five years. This permit, which came into effect on July 30, consolidates a new phase for domestic producers seeking access to the Asian giant.
Details of the New Opening by Product
In the sesame sector, the opening of the China market was announced in November, and the recent measure expands the number of authorized Brazilian establishments, which increased from 31 to 61 in total. The validity of this new authorization is four years, showing ongoing interest in the product. For poultry and swine meals, the authorization of 41 new companies was a direct result of a bilateral Sanitary Protocol signed between Brazil and China in April 2023.
Strategic Move Amid Global Scenario
This commercial expansion with China occurs at a significant time for Brazil. Recently, the United States imposed tariffs of 50% on some Brazilian products, including coffee. Thus, the opening of the Chinese market emerges as a strategic and valuable alternative for national exporters.
