Initially, the Modelo Office will seek to carry out projects for PUC-Rio itself and support the solutions of the Modelo Architecture and Urbanism Office, but will also seek to develop independent studies as proposals for the reuse of materials and components discarded by other industries in popular housing. The objective is to apply academic knowledge in the solution of problems inside and outside the university campus.
“The Modelo Office meets the New National Curriculum Guidelines for teaching Engineering, which reinforces that the university must contribute to the training of engineers in terms of theoretical basis, skills and competences”, says Prof. Daniel Cardoso, coordinator of the Eng. Civil.
Two scholarships will be offered to students, but there will also be opportunities for student volunteers. At that time, all activities will be carried out remotely. The undergraduate students of Eng. Civil and Environmental interested parties must register by February 22, sending an e-mail to joelvieira@puc-rio.br with a brief account of the activities he currently performs and his interest in the office.
