Award Ceremony Will Be Between October 20 and 23 at ENEGEP 2020. In total, there were 23 competitors in four categories
Student Marina Weil Afonso, from the Professional Master’s in Logistics, from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Cátedra Técnico Científica da PUC-Rio (CTC/PUC-Rio), had her dissertation elected as the best Professional Master’s of 2020 by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO).
The study “Simulation Applied in the Logistics of Loading of Oil Derivative for Maritime Shipment” suggests simulations of possible scenarios to evaluate and propose improvements in the loading formation for maritime shipment of an oil derivative. “These analyses are important for decision-making in managing refinery stocks and the supply chain,” emphasizes Prof. Fernando Luiz Cyrino Oliveira, advisor of the dissertation.
The award ceremony will be during the 40th National Meeting of Production Engineering (ENEGEP Web 2020), between October 20 and 23, in a virtual format. The student will receive a digital certificate, a registration for ENEGEP in the editions of 2020 and 2021, and her work will be disclosed on the site of ABEPRO.

The evaluation was made based on studies indicated by institutional members of ABEPRO in 2020. In total, there were 23 competitors in four categories: Professional Master’s Dissertation, Academic Master’s Dissertation, Final Course Project, and Doctoral Thesis. The goal of the award is to stimulate and contribute to the development of research in Production Engineering.
