Student Marina Weil Afonso, from the Professional Master's Degree in Logistics, from the Industrial Engineering Department of PUC-Rio Scientific Technical Center (CTC/PUC-Rio), had his dissertation elected as the best Professional Master's of 2020 by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO).
The study “Simulation applied to the logistics of cargo formation of petroleum derivatives for maritime shipment”, suggests simulations of possible scenarios, to evaluate and propose improvements in the formation of cargo for maritime shipment of an oil derivative. “These analyzes are important for decision-making in the management of refinery inventories and the supply chain”, reinforces Prof. Fernando Luiz Cyrino Oliveira, dissertation supervisor.
The award ceremony will take place during the 40th National Meeting of Production Engineering (ENEGEP Web 2020), between October 20th and 23rd, in virtual format. The student will receive a digital certificate, an enrollment in the ENEGEP in the 2020 and 2021 editions and will have her work published in the website from ABEPRO.

The evaluation was carried out based on studies indicated by institutional associates of ABEPRO in 2020. In all, there were 23 competitors in four categories: Professional Master's Dissertation, Academic Master's Dissertation, Course Completion Work and Doctoral Thesis. The purpose of the award is to encourage and contribute to the development of research in Production Engineering.
