Bricks Inspired By LEGO Bring Innovation To Construction, Being 23 Times Stronger Than Concrete And Withstanding Amazing Winds

Construction with a sustainable perspective is getting stronger and developing with modern innovations. Inspired by children’s plastic blocks, a North American company emerges to compete with innovative eco-friendly bricks as construction material for the houses of the future, with excellent expectations of replacing concrete.

Innovation in construction: eco-friendly bricks 23 times stronger than concrete and resistant to winds of 443 km/h. Discover the material for the houses of the future.

What Is The Brick For The Houses Of The Future?

The toys from the Lego factory inspired these modern blocks, but with a feature that the originals did not have: ecological awareness. Thus are presented these revolutionary bricks, lighter, stronger, and made with recycled material.

The Renco MCFR (Mineral Composite Reinforced with Fiber) is the name of this new brick from the company and is the philosopher’s stone of the houses of the future, which have already begun to be built since the company received its official certification in 2019.

The complex structures of this new construction system are products of technological innovation, robotics, and the reusable components that make up these stackable bricks to be used in buildings and complexes of the houses of the future.

The co-founder of RENCO, Thomas P. Murphy, after being awarded in 2023 with the BLT Built Design Awards celebrated in Lucerne, Switzerland, expressed pride in a product that contributed to a simpler construction system that respects the planet.

Technical Characteristics Of The Lego Construction Brick

The patented innovation from Renco combines recycled plastic and fiberglass, resin, and stone in its composition. The perfect combination of these elements provides a strength 23 times greater than concrete, with a weight of less than 3.5 kg.

The material obtained from the mix of recycled ingredients is water-resistant, mold-resistant, and resistant to moisture formation, as well as to fire, corrosion, and termites. Therefore, it has excellent properties to replace concrete, steel, and wood in construction.

The houses of the future will withstand weather conditions robustly, as these bricks passed the tests for ASTM and TAS standards, which certify their capacity to withstand winds of 275 MPH and even Category 5 hurricanes.

They are eco-friendly both in their manufacturing and in the final stages of construction, leaving no waste or emissions of gases or annoying machinery noise. The bricks that build the houses of the future interlock with each other using a special methacrylate adhesive and without mortar.

Cutting-Edge Technology Used For These Eco-Friendly Bricks

After eight years of analysis and efficiency testing, the certified brick uses compression molding techniques and the pultrusion process to quickly build a structure block by block in walls, beams, floors, etc.

The factory has two lines of blocks, the residential and commercial, which differ in their dimensions according to the nature of the building being constructed. The houses of the future utilize simplicity in their designs, employing color systems for their plans.

This simple planning approach addresses the issue of the shortage of skilled labor, allowing people to understand and carry out a construction project according to their skills and experiences.

Additionally, this feature helps reduce the financial costs of the construction, requiring fewer workers, without machinery or additional building materials. The houses of the future are more affordable and environmentally friendly.

In addition to contributing to a more sustainable world, the houses of the future have received certification for their use worldwide according to the International Building Code (IBC). The company has completed with this construction model complexes of buildings in record time and more affordably than traditional construction in Florida, and now it expects its expansion.
