Brazilian Army Soldiers Go to the United States in August to Participate in CORE 2024.
The Brazilian Army will participate in CORE 2024 (Combined Operation And Rotation Exercise) along with the United States. The joint training will take place in August and last for one month. The Brazilian troops, specialized in Amazon operations, will consist of a Company of Commandos from the 52nd Jungle Infantry Battalion (52º BIS) in Marabá (PA), and members of the Battalion and Brigade Staff. They will integrate with the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army.
This year, the exercise will take place at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC). The goal is to develop combined operational capacity between the Brazilian Army and the United States, applying modern operational concepts. In 2023, Brazil hosted CORE 23, receiving American troops in the states of Pará and Amapá.

About CORE (Combined Operation And Rotation Exercise)
CORE (Combined Operation And Rotation Exercise) is a joint training conducted annually between the Brazilian Army and the United States Army. Created to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries, the exercise focuses on the development of combined operations, allowing troops to share knowledge and tactics. Since its inception, CORE has been an essential platform for Brazilian military personnel to improve their operational skills in diverse environments, as well as promoting integration and interoperability between the two forces.
Each year, CORE alternates its location between the United States and Brazil, providing a rich and diverse experience for participants. During the exercise, modern operational concepts are applied and intensive training is conducted, which includes everything from jungle operations, in the case of specialized Brazilian troops, to airborne exercises. This exchange not only enhances troop readiness and response capability but also strengthens diplomatic and defense ties between Brazil and the United States.
