On this Tuesday (11/14), ExxonMobil commenced operations of the FPSO Prosperity, located in the Payara field, marking the third production system of the company in the Stabroek Block, in Guyana.
With this milestone, the multinational’s production capacity in the South American country increases to 620 thousand barrels per day.
It is expected that the FPSO will reach a production of 220 thousand barrels per day in the first half of 2024, as new wells come online, according to the oil company.

ExxonMobil is continuing its plans to achieve production of 1.2 million barrels per day in Stabroek by the end of 2027, with the expectation of having six FPSOs in operation in the country.
Development Projects of ExxonMobil in Guyana
ExxonMobil is currently conducting the development of the Yellowtail and Uaru projects, which represent the fourth and fifth projects of the company in Guyana. Each of these projects has the capacity to produce approximately 250 thousand barrels of oil per day. Additionally, the company is awaiting local government approval to initiate the sixth project, known as Whiptail.
The operation of the Stabroek Block is carried out by ExxonMobil, which holds a 45% interest, in partnership with Hess (30%) and CNOOC (25%).
