Alberto Ferrin Takes Leadership Role as ExxonMobil Celebrates 110 Years in the Country in 2022
RIO DE JANEIRO, July 11, 2022 – ExxonMobil announced Alberto Ferrin as the president of the company in Brazil.
Ferrin will be responsible for leading the sustainable growth of the subsidiaries in the country. An ExxonMobil employee for over 15 years, Ferrin has held key roles in exploration and production around the globe, including leadership positions in West Africa, Australia, the United States, and Mexico.
Most recently, he was the Development and New Business Manager in Brazil, including responsibilities for the Bacalhau project, operated by Equinor.

Ferrin will be responsible for the Exploration and Production lines in Rio de Janeiro, Product Solutions (chemicals) in São Paulo, and the Global Business Center in Curitiba, totaling over 2,000 employees.
“Brazil continues to be a strategic country for ExxonMobil globally. In 2024, we will begin the production phase of the Bacalhau field with our partners Equinor, Petrogal, and PPSA. We are also continuously seeking opportunities that have added value in exploration,” said Ferrin. “Our greatest strength is our people. We have a top-notch team. The first company in the sector to establish itself in Brazil and having continuous operations since 1912, ExxonMobil is celebrating 110 years of uninterrupted presence in the country.
In the exploration and production area, the company has stakes in 28 offshore blocks, including the Bacalhau field, with 17 as the operator. It is also the operator of 60% of its area (approximately 10,000 km2). In recent years, it has invested US $ 4 billion in the acquisition of these assets.
