Federal Center for Technological Education of RJ Opens Over One Thousand Vacancies in Free Technical Courses with Certificates Valid Nationwide
The Celso Suckow da Fonseca Federal Center for Technological Education (CEFET/RJ) launched Public Notice No. 06/2025, which opens 1,048 vacancies in free technical courses integrated with high school for the 2026 academic year. The opportunities are distributed across seven campuses in the state of Rio de Janeiro and represent a real chance for continued education, professional training, and market insertion with nationally recognized certificates. According to the institution’s director, Maurício Saldanha Motta, “CEFET/RJ’s mission is to prepare young people with academic and technical excellence for the challenges of the future.”
Objective of the Courses and Workload
The technical courses aim to train professionals prepared to work in various industrial, technological, and service areas while students complete high school. This integrated modality ensures that the student receives a complete education, both academic and professional, at the same institution.
The duration of the courses is three years, with a minimum workload of 3,200 hours in qualifications that require a 1,000-hour internship and 3,600 hours for areas that demand 1,200 hours. In addition to regular subjects, students participate in forums, seminars, internal projects, and supervised internships, mandatory activities that ensure practical experience before graduation.

Vacancies and Offer Locations
The 1,048 vacancies are distributed among the campuses of Maracanã, Maria da Graça, Nova Iguaçu, Petrópolis, Nova Friburgo, Itaguaí, and Valença. All courses are offered in an integrated manner, on an annual basis and in morning or afternoon shifts, with the possibility of activities in the off-hours and, in some cases, classes in the evening during the 3rd year.
Selection Process and Quota System
The selection will be conducted through an objective test and an essay, covering content from the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) of elementary education. The test will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions divided among Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Human Sciences.
Half of the vacancies are reserved for students who completed their entire elementary education in public schools. Within this system, there are specific quotas for self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola candidates, and people with disabilities, following the criteria defined by the Law No. 12.711/2012 and subsequent legislation.
Requirements for Registration
Students who have completed or are completing the 9th year of elementary education in 2025 — including in the Adult Education modality — and who are under 18 years old by March 30, 2026 may apply. At the time of registration, personal data, CPF number, identity document, and the selection of campus and course will be required. For in-person tests, candidates must present an official photo ID. For courses with complementary virtual activities, access to a computer and the internet will be necessary.

The Celso Suckow da Fonseca Federal Center for Technological Education RJ emphasizes that this is a unique opportunity for those who wish to start their professional life on a solid foundation.
