Sesi College of Education is now accepting applications for remaining spots in the free postgraduate course in Educational Practices for Mathematics Teaching. Designed for public school teachers in São Paulo, the program is a partnership with the School for Educators Paulo Renato Costa Souza (EFAPE)/SEDUC-SP and is part of the Sesi Para Todos initiative.

Course Structure and Content

Set to begin on March 10, 2025, the free postgraduate course has a total workload of 360 hours and an estimated duration of 18 months. Classes will be held on alternating days, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 PM to 11 PM, or on Saturdays from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 5 PM, depending on the chosen group. In this first semester, the postgraduate course will be offered in São Bernardo do Campo, Cubatão, Guarulhos, Jundiaí, Mogi das Cruzes, Osasco, and Santa Bárbara d’Oeste. The program plans to expand the centers over the next 10 years, covering more areas of the state of São Paulo.

The structure of the free postgraduate course is divided into three modules, with 60% focused on Mathematics teaching, 20% on pedagogy, and 20% on applied practices, including lesson planning and assessment, culminating in the development of a Final Course Project (TCC). According to Adilson Dalben, Supervisor of Training Projects at Sesi-SP, the adopted methodology encourages collaborative learning, allowing teachers to take active roles in the teaching process and problem-solving.

Those interested in the free postgraduate course have until February 18, 2025, to secure their spot. Public school teachers in São Paulo who meet the requirements of the notice can register through the website faculdadesesi.edu.br/posmatematica.
