FAETEC opened 3,749 free slots for technical courses, technologists, specializations, and EJA. Registrations until June 14 on the official website.
Those living in Rio de Janeiro who want to qualify without paying anything have an open window until June 14. Since last Friday (May 22), FAETEC — Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica — has been accepting applications for 3,749 free slots distributed among technical courses, technological graduation, specializations, and the EJA modality, aimed at those who wish to resume their studies. The entire registration process is done exclusively online, through the official selection portal.
FAETEC opens many slots in free courses
The largest share of slots is allocated to technical training. There are 3,016 opportunities in technical courses, open to students who are already attending at least the 2nd year of High School or who have already completed this stage. The selection for these classes occurs through a public lottery, scheduled for July 4.
Two technical courses, however, require a different stage: Theater and Musical Instrument, with 65 slots in total, require a Specific Skills Test (THE) before enrollment.

In addition to conventional technical courses, FAETEC offers other modalities:
- 538 slots in technological graduation courses (technologists), offered by the Higher Education Institutes and Technological Education Colleges of the network — selection by objective test on July 5;
- 70 slots in technical specializations at the medium level in the areas of Family Health and Occupational Nursing, requiring a technical diploma in Nursing and selection by test;
- 60 slots for Youth and Adult Education (EJA), a modality designed for those who need to resume or complete basic school education.
Registration fees and how to apply
Not all modalities are completely free at the registration stage. The fees vary according to the type of course chosen:
- R$ 58 for entrance exams (technological graduation), specializations, and technical courses in Theater and Musical Instrument;
- R$ 20 for other technical courses.
