Honda Motorcycles Will Leave the Brazilian Market to Make Way for New Models; Know Which Popular Motorcycles Will Leave the Market After Years of Success.
A survey by the National Traffic Department revealed that over 32.2 million motorcycles are in circulation in Brazil. Among the main brands, Honda stands out for its popular motorcycles, facing strong competition, especially from Yamaha. As one of the world’s automotive giants, Honda has adjusted its strategic plans in recent years, affecting even models that were popular among consumers.
Honda Motorcycles That Will Stop Being Produced
For those who haven’t been following, in 2022, Honda announced that some models would stop being produced to make way for newer ones. According to the Mobilidade magazine, from Estadão, the popular motorcycles chosen were the SH 150i and SH 300i.

Although they were successful in Europe, these models did not perform as well in the national market, contrary to expectations at the time of launch. In response, Honda decided to make room for the Forza 350, in an attempt to reverse this failure.

The public relations supervisor at Honda, Alfredo Guedes, explained the group’s decision in a note sent to the press. According to the company representative, the riding experience and the seat height of these models were unfavorable to consumers who prefer the current style.
Get to Know the Popular Honda Motorcycles Better
As mentioned earlier, Honda’s more refined-looking motorcycles have never made a significant impact in Brazil since their launches in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The SH 150i accumulated 2,159 sales in 2021, which is less than 10% of PCX sales. Larger and more expensive, the SH 300i had only 410 registrations in 2021.
Honda Brazil confirmed the discontinuation of the duo. According to the company, production of the popular motorcycles had already decreased throughout 2021 and, with the new year, their stock was low.
The Honda SH 150i had the same engine as the PCX: a single-cylinder 149.3 cm³ with electronic fuel injection, generating 14.7 hp at 7,750 rpm and 1.40 kgfm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The transmission was an automatic CVT type. In December, it was priced starting at R$ 13,340 excluding freight. A PCX with ABS like the SH 150i today doesn’t go for less than R$ 15,590 without freight.
The larger sister Honda SH 300i was the only maxi-scooter from the brand in Brazil, aside from the adventure model X-ADV, and was a direct competitor to the Yamaha XMax. In its last days, it cost R$ 23,590 without freight. It featured a single-cylinder four-valve engine with 270 cm³. It delivered 24.9 hp at 7,500 rpm and 2.59 kgfm of torque at 5,000 rpm.
What Is the New Forza 350 Motorcycle Like
When questioned about the reason for the end of popular motorcycles, the brand declared only that it is preparing a new strategy for the Brazilian scooter market. As mentioned before, the brand introduced the Forza 350, which features a unique air-cooled 330 cm³ single-cylinder engine.
Powered by electronic fuel injection, the single-cylinder engine produces a maximum power of 29.2 hp at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 3.24 kgfm at 5,250 rpm. The transmission, like most scooters, is of the CVT type.
