Simulation of financing a 2022 Kwid for R$ 47,000, with R$ 10,000 down payment and 2.5% interest per month, shows how the payment term changes the installment, increases the interest, and can lead the final cost of the car to more than R$ 81,000.

The Pipoco Investidor channel showed that the financing of a 2022 Kwid for R$ 47,000, with R$ 10,000 down payment, can significantly increase the final value of the car over a few years.

Financing a Kwid starts at R$ 47,000 with a R$ 10,000 down payment

The simulation considers a used 2022 Renault Kwid as a car to work with Uber, with an estimated price of R$ 47,000. The buyer would make a R$ 10,000 down payment and finance the rest over terms of 36, 48, or 60 months.

The rate used in the calculation is 2.5% per month. This percentage may vary according to the buyer’s score, the vehicle’s year, and other conditions evaluated at the time of financing.

The comparison shows that the chosen term directly changes the installment amount, the total paid in interest, and the final cost of the car. The longer the payment period, the lower the monthly installment, but the higher the total amount disbursed.

In three years, a Kwid of R$ 47,000 reaches R$ 66,545

In the 36-month term, equivalent to three years, the total paid only in installments reaches R$ 52,545. Within this amount, R$ 19,545 corresponds to interest.

The interest represents 35% of the total paid in installments in this first simulation. By adding the R$ 10,000 down payment to the financed amount over the three years, the Kwid of R$ 47,000 ends up costing R$ 66,545.

This is the lowest final cost among the three scenarios presented. Even so, the difference between the initial price of the car and the final amount paid after financing reaches R$ 19,545 in interest, in addition to the down payment already disbursed at the start.

The simulation shows that the shorter term reduces the impact of interest on the final result. On the other hand, it requires greater monthly payment capacity, as the financing is settled in less time.

In four years, installment decreases, but interest rises

In the 48-month scenario, equivalent to four years, the installment is R$ 1,332. The reduction in the monthly amount is accompanied by an increase in the total paid over the contract.

In this term, the total paid only in installments rises to R$ 63,946. Of this amount, R$ 26,946 is interest, which represents 42% of the total installments paid.

With the R$ 10,000 down payment, the Kwid of R$ 47,000 ends up costing R$ 73,946 at the end of the four years. The difference compared to the three-year financing is R$ 7,401 in the final cost.

The increase occurs because the buyer remains paying the installments longer and, consequently, accumulating interest. The smaller installment may ease the monthly payment, but it raises the final financing cost.

In five years, the final cost exceeds R$ 81,000

In the 60-month financing, equivalent to five years, the installment drops to R$ 1,197. This is the lowest monthly amount among the three terms compared in the simulation.

Despite this, the total paid in installments reaches R$ 71,824. Of this amount, R$ 34,824 corresponds to interest, equivalent to 48% of the total paid in installments.

By adding the R$ 10,000 down payment, the Kwid of R$ 47,000 ends up costing R$ 81,824 at the end of the five years. This is the highest final cost among the simulated terms.

The difference between the initial value of the vehicle and the total paid over five years reaches R$ 34,824 in interest. In practice, the lower monthly installment comes with a greater increase in the total cost of the car.

Term changes the weight of the installment and the total paid

The simulation presents three alternatives for those considering financing a Kwid to drive with Uber: three, four, or five years. Each term offers a different combination of monthly amount, total interest, and final cost.

In three years, the total amount is R$ 66,545. In four years, it rises to R$ 73,946. In five years, it reaches R$ 81,824.

The difference between the shortest and the longest scenario is R$ 15,279 in the final amount paid for the car. The five-year term reduces the installment to R$ 1,197, but makes the interest reach R$ 34,824.

The central question remains the balance between the monthly installment and the total cost. For those intending to use the car with Uber, the decision depends on how much the income from rides can cover the installments throughout the chosen period.
