Finland Opened an Official Path for Brazilians with the Discover Finland Project, Co-Financed by the European Union. The Program Combines Online Courses, Events, and Sector Coaching in IT, Manufacturing, Energy, and Healthtech for Stronger Applications.
The Discover Finland is an official project from Work in Finland created to guide foreign professionals toward the Finnish job market. The focus includes Brazil, India, and Vietnam, with actions also taking place in the Philippines. The aim is to provide a structured pathway with events, online courses, and sector coaching to enhance the quality of applications and facilitate hiring by Finnish companies.
The project is running from April 2024 to March 2027, is co-financed by the European Union (AMIF) and Business Finland, and is managed by the Work in Finland unit, a government branch that promotes talent attraction. The total reported budget is approximately 1.2 million euros.
For those living in Brazil who want to work in Finland, Discover Finland acts as a preparation guide: it helps to understand the market, the types of positions available, how to apply more effectively, and what the rights and duties are for those working in the Nordic country. This is part of a national effort aligned with the Talent Boost program, coordinated by Finnish ministries to attract skilled professionals and strengthen the economy with work-based immigration.

How It Works: Events, Online Courses, and Sector Coaching
The pathway begins with events: the Work in Finland team conducts and participates in in-person meetings in Brazil and virtual events throughout 2025 and 2026, where they present opportunities, explain the market, and provide guidance on Discover Finland. In 2025, they were present at the Web Summit Rio, reinforcing the effort to connect with the Brazilian audience.
After the events, candidates can enroll in the online course from the project. The content covers everything from basic information about life and work in the country to job searching, resume tailoring, and interview preparation, always with a focus on Finnish realities. The aim is to enhance professional readiness even before applying for positions.
Those who complete the course gain access to group coaching sessions, led by experts in high-demand areas: IT and digitization, manufacturing, energy, and healthtech. In these sessions, participants deepen their understanding of companies’ expectations, learn how to present their potential, and receive practical guidance to accelerate their re-employment.
Who Can Participate in Discover Finland and How to Enroll
The Discover Finland program is aimed at specialists living in the target countries who wish to advance their careers in the country. Enrollment in the course takes place after contact at events and includes citizenship verification through a valid document. In actions in Brazil, Work in Finland has indicated that verification can accept passport, driver’s license, ID card, and tax ID, which facilitates the process for the Brazilian audience. It is important to know that the program does not guarantee employment, but it significantly increases the quality of applications.
To make the most of the journey, it is advisable to prepare a resume in English, review LinkedIn with terms compatible with the Finnish market, and practice a concise cover letter. The course and coaching are designed to complement this preparation, which tends to improve the fit with job openings and reduce cultural misunderstandings in interviews.
Another differentiator is the direct connection with companies: the project also involves actions with employers in Finland to enhance attractiveness and shorten the integration of the hired, for example by offering e-learning as part of the onboarding for new employees.

Work and Residence Visa in Finland: How the Fast Track of Up to Two Weeks Works
For eligible profiles, Finland offers a fast track of up to two weeks for decisions on the first application for residence permit when the aim is to work as a specialist, manager, or with an EU Blue Card, among other categories. This process requires the candidate to attach all documents, pay the fee in the Enter Finland system, and verify identity within 5 business days after the application.
The employer plays an active role: they need to add employment terms in the system within 2 business days after the professional submits the application. Additionally, it is possible to request a visa D along with the residence permit, allowing immediate travel to the country as soon as a positive decision is made. Spouses and children can also use the fast track if applying at the same time.
It is important to remember that the fast track applies to the first application, and not all profiles qualify. The recommendation is to check the correct category on the official Migri website and verify income requirements, documents, and the type of contract. This clarity avoids rework and increases the chance of a swift process.
Labor Market, Professional Culture, and Quality of Life
The Discover Finland prioritizes areas with labor demand and paves the way for better-aligned applications in IT, manufacturing, energy, and healthtech. Early guidance reduces frequent errors in international applications and gives professionals more confidence when negotiating salary, benefits, and integration.
In the workplace, Finland values trust, autonomy, and work-life balance. In technology sectors, English is widely accepted in daily interactions, which eases the initial integration of foreigners while Finnish is learned gradually. These factors, combined with quality public services, create a competitive environment for those seeking a sustainable international career.
The country’s reputation is reflected in global indicators: Finland has consistently ranked first in the World Happiness Report since 2018, useful information to contextualize quality of life, social cohesion, and trust in institutions.

Pronto vc acabou de me dar mais motivos pra me candidatar kkkk
Se eu fosse especialista com certeza eu iria. Amo a Finlândia e gosto do equlibrio de vida deles. Um dos raros países que eu moraria. Principalmente para ter essa experiência. Esse motivo é ótimo para me candidatar também um dia. Frio! Neve e equlibrio social.
